Innovative programs targeting staff wellness and wellbeing, as well as fostering a culture of collective leadership have seen Singleton Council recognised with Excellence Awards at the Australian HR Awards.
Singleton Council took out Excellence Awards in the Best Health and Wellbeing Program and the Best Change Management Strategy categories at a virtual presentation ceremony on 3 December 2020, elevating the organisation’s status among the human resources teams at some of the world’s biggest companies and Australian government organisations.
The programs were:
General Manager Jason Linnane said the awards were well-deserved recognition for the hard work, creativity and skill of Council’s Human Resources and Integrated Management teams.
But most importantly, the accolades reinforced Council’s focus on its most important resource: the staff of the organisation.
“Our aim is to create a workplace of choice that attracts the best people, where people are supported to reach their potential and are motivated to do the best job possible to deliver the best outcomes for our community,” he said.
“Singleton Council may be a small organisation in industry terms, but the Australian HR Awards are yet another affirmation that we are anything but small achievers.
“The work we do, and the programs we have in place to support our employees have been held up alongside initiatives that are run at some of the biggest companies including McDonald’s, Johnson & Johnson, Accor Hotels Australia and Metcash.
“The safety and wellbeing of all staff at Singleton Council is my number one priority every day, and last night’s awards show we’re industry leaders when it comes to sending our people home in as good – or even better – condition than when they arrive for work.”
