DISRUPTION TO COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTRES AND HOUSEHOLD CHEMICAL CLEANOUTS
Collection of some household chemical and hazardous waste items from OUR Community Recycling Centre has been temporarily impacted following a fire at a Cleanaway facility.
Cleanaway has advised they will not be collecting items such as oils and paints from Community Recycling Centres until further notice, including non motor oils, oil-based paint and aerosols. Community members are asked to safely store their problem waste and household chemicals at home until the Community Recycling Centre is fully operational and Cleanout events recommence.
There are a number of convenient ways in which you can dispose of problem wastes that can not be placed in your household garbage or recycling bin.
COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTRE
The Singleton Community Recycling Centre provides Singleton residents with a user-friendly facility, making it easier to dispose of recyclable and household problem wastes FOR FREE.
We’ve made some changes to how we operate the CRC – you now need to pull up to our weigh bridge so our operators can review your items first before you recycle them (this is so we can record how much we are recycling and reduce contamination levels).
This project is a NSW EPA “Waste Less, Recycle More” initiative funded from the waste levy.
COMMUNITY RECYCLING STATIONS
Community recycling stations are available at several Council buildings, accepting household batteries, mobile phones, printer cartridges and keyboards.
