- Singleton Sundial
To the Singleton community, the Sundial represents the town’s bicentennial celebrations. The sundial forms a gateway to the Hunter River, picnic areas and recreational and sporting facilities also developed in the 1988 Bicentennial project.
Construction of the Sundial was financed by Lemington Coal Mine, a State Bicentennial Grant and generous contributions from mining, industry and community groups within and around Singleton. It stands as a visible link between the old and the new - an ancient method of time telling set in the midst of the new development in Singleton.
